HYBRID PE OVERVIEW
What does the Hybrid PE class look like?
Classes will meet for one hour per week for regular PE class. Students will be using a Polar M200 Heart Rate Monitor to complete workouts on their own for the other required PE minutes.

What type of exercise can we do on our own?
You can do any type of exercise that you want on your own as long as you keep your heart rate up to 110BPM or more. You can run, swim, play basketball, do martial arts, HIIT workout, workout video, etc. You get to choose what type of exercise you enjoy doing!
How will I present my workouts from my Polar M200 watch?
Teachers can track all of your workout data from Polar Flow. You will be turning in a workout log in every two weeks with all of your workouts and data such as date, length of workout, time in zones 4 and 5, average BPM, and a short description of your workout.
What are the benefits of taking the Hybrid PE class?
There are many benefits of taking the Hybrid PE class. Flexibility is the major benefit. Students enjoy choosing what type of exercise they want to do and they get to choose when it works best in their schedule.
What are the challenges with taking the Hybrid PE class?
This class is great for some students but not for all students. You really have to learn how to manage your time well and be self motivated to workout on your own. Students who are already working out on their own typically do well in this class. The students that typically struggle in Hybrid PE have trouble getting motivated to work out on their own, and struggle with time management.
